IIT Madras Launches Smart Agri Copper for the Spraying of Insecticides

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has developed a smart landscape. The purpose of innovation is to eliminate manual spraying of pesticides in agricultural areas.

Since the heavy use of toxic chemicals, spraying of manual insecticides affecting the health of farmers and laborers is an extremely dangerous activity. The estimation of the cost of the agricopter is approximately Rs 5.1 lakh.

Smart Agrocheter is a hexacopter drone with the ability to carry 15 liters of pesticide. The agrascot will allow the spraying of pesticides ten times faster and with 100% precision. It has a multispectral imaging camera which provides smart analysis of crop health.

It also ensures that the complete sprinkling process is completely autonomous and the farmer never comes into contact with the insecticide.
