Cop arrested for raping own daughter inside police post A 58-year-old policeman in Agra has been arrested for allegedly raping his own 35-year-old married daughter inside the police post when she went to meet him. The accused has reportedly confessed to the crime, saying that his daughter had 'provoked' him to rape her. The victim further alleged that her father had sexually abused her when she was 14.

67 tigers die in six months in India, government does not know why In the first six months this year, 11 tigers died every month, which means one tiger death reported every three days.The highest number of tiger deaths was reported from Karnataka (14), Madhya Pradesh (13) and Uttarakhand (9). The tiger estimation 2014 put the population of big cats in India 2,226 compared to 1706 in 2010 and 1411 in 2006.

Andhra Pradesh village records 15 deaths; food poisoning suspected Fifteen people from a tribal village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh have died in the last two weeks, with food poisoning suspected to be a possible reason. Another 24 people from the same village, Chavaraee in Y Ramavaram mandal of East Godavari district, have been admitted to hospitals in Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada.

Railways earns Rs. 20.74 cr from ticketless travellers in Mumbai The Central Railway (CR) earned Rs20.74 crore by fining ticketless travellers in the month May. The zonal railway claimed that the earning is 83.55% higher as compared to same month last year. According to the Central Railway, a total of 3.66 lakh cases of ticketless or irregular travel and unbooked luggage were detected last month, and an amount of Rs20.74 crore was realised through the fine.
