Indian Women’s Hockey Team Won FIH Series

Indian Women’s Hockey team won the FIH (Fédération Internationale de Hockey) He defeated Japan 3-1 in the finals held at the Hiroshima Hockey Stadium, Japan. The Indian women eked out a hard-fought win over the Asian champions.

Captain Rani Rampal gave India the lead in the 3rd minute before drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur struck twice (45th and 60th minutes) late in the match to set up the win.

Kanon Mori scored the lone goal for Japan in the 11th minute. The World No. 9 Indian team had already qualified for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers 2019 on Saturday after securing a place in the Final of the competition.
