1.) What You Should Do if you don’t know the answer of interviewer question?
When you don’t know how to answer a question during an interview, the silence can seem unbearable. You might even wish the floor would open up and swallow you whole. No need to worry, only keep these tips in mind the next time you’re Ready to give an answer.
a.) Don’t Panic and Calm down – First of all, the most important thing to do is stay calm.Your reaction if you can’t immediately come up with an answer can be more important than the ability to deliver the answer. Maintaining a calm, confident posture when confronted with a tough question will help convince the recruiter that your inability to answer a question is an unusual occurrence for you.If you fall apart and get upset, the interviewer may lose confidence in you.
b.) Take Some Time – You can often buy some time to formulate an answer .Something as simple as, “Hmm…that’s a great question. Let me think about that,” will suffice as you take some time to work through your first thoughts on how to approach the question.Especially since it’s so important to fill up any empty airspace with words to avoid silences.Take a bit of time to gather your thoughts and give the answer.
c.) Again Ask question – Maybe it’s the question you don’t understand. Ask your interviewer to clarify what she said. Go deeper into the question to see if you can get more details that will help you figure it out.
2.) Explain Them How You Would Find the Answer
If you don’t know the answer, you can tell the interviewer the steps you would take to figure out the problem. Interviewers want to see that, what your thought process is. Sometimes, the thought process may be more important than the actual answer. They want to see that you can take initiative and have the resources to come up with a solution on your own, instead of hold your hand through problems.
3.) Remember the Right Time to Come Clean
If the answer is something that you will only know through memorization, such a definition of the word, then it’s probably best to admit that you don’t know the answer, as it may be impossible to figure it out independently. Here’s what you can tell the interviewer: “It’s a good question, but I’m sorry, I don’t have the answer off the top of my head. I will be sure to follow up with the answer after the interview.
